Cedarville University's Solar Boat Team had a busy racing year competing in two electric boat races this year. It is a feat of note! The team placed 2nd at PEP 2026 in April and won 2026 Solar Splash World Championship in May. The team raced with a two P40 72V motor system.  Cedarville Solar Boat Team

Princeton placed 8th at the 2025 2025 Formula Hybrid + Electric Autocross competition, running a Hawk 20 purchased in 2020. Congrats!

We manufacture and test our motors in-house. A small batch of P20 48V kits are being tested for a new e-boat racing concept in Japan. The small frame and mighty power open possibilities.

Princeton Racing Electric led the way in introducing the Hawk40 motor to FSAE. We have Kestrel 20s, 40s and 60s  in the works to be ready for next year. These motors are 400-600V variants, made in the US.

DHX is an expert in rapid prototyping of high performing electric motors from raw material to test article. Our journey in eAviation started with an eVTOL prototype in 2019.

With our in-house rotor spin test capability out to 20K RPM, we can show when retention will fail and when a rotor will burst.

We employ skilled labor utilizing sophisticated testing equipment and a variety of controllers to make testing, pairing, and tuning our motors an affordable and efficient process. Designed-Made-Tested in the USA.

The Cedarville University Solar Boat team transitioned to the Peregrine P40 72V motor to compete in the 2024 Solar Splash competition, achieving a perfect score in the racing categories: slalom, endurance and sprint. Their previous Hawk40 72V motor placed 2nd in 2021, 1st in 2022, and 2nd in 2023. With this year's winning, Cedarville  reclaims the championship title for the 14th time over the competition's 30 year duration. Congratulations!

DHX expands into composites manufacturing, building on its portfolio of resin, polymer, and Kevlar capabilities.

The Valkyrie Team unveiled their sustainable animal-friendly e-marine propulsion project featuring a Peregrine P20 motor. 

Congrats to Stevens Institute for placing 2nd at the 2024 ASNE Navy PEP competition - promoting electric propulsion for small craft, with their Peregrine P40, 72V motor. The motor reached 20+ knots on a 48V battery pack. There were 42 boats from 34 universities, 200 student engineers working at competing for racing honors on a 5 mile course. Another top 3 finish by a DHX sponsored team.

We're assembling and testing rotors with laminated magnets, again. We operate beyond colors for dollars, we specialize in hardware.

We use AI to design and build custom apps, whether it is for tracking inventory or planning next gen BOMs. We code and collaborate; we design-build-test.

Pairing and tuning controllers/inverters are a science and an art. We have a couple of orders pushing out this month for a number of different controllers. We speak gains and limits.

DHX is a Technical Center of Excellence specializing in the development of novel, niche, high torque electric machines. 

Over the past eight years, using our engineering internship program as a blue print, we have developed a skills-based certification process to train hands-on technical production skills to technicians-in-training to become DHX certified electric motor technicians.

Looking back to when a 96V Hawk40 motor powered the winning team in the 2019 Wye Island Marathon race, Cedarville University winning the 2022 World Solar Splash competition with their custom 72V Hawk40, the University of Michigan placing second in American Society of Naval Engineers 2021 PEP competition with their 96V Hawk40, and Stevens Institute coming third in the 2019 World Solar Splash competition with their custom 72V Hawk40.

We have mechanicals and active mass in hand to build a few Sparrows, air cooled drone motors, in parallel with our PEREGRiNE series and eAviation motors.

Our big torque motors are coming along nicely. A lot of design finalization and process development are in progress.

DHX is looking forward to another busy summer internship session and is actively hiring skilled production team members to work on our PEREGRiNE, eAviation and drone motor projects. We are working with Project SEARCH to identify high school candidates for STEM production work opportunities.

We push ahead with the PDC e-aviation motor projects, ranging from large 1MW to tiny drone motors.

Happy New Year! DHX has been super busy testing PEREGRiNE alpha prototypes in December and January. We have also been working on some exciting product development contracts in the aerospace industry ranging from tiny drone motors to 1MW e-aviation motors. Onward and upward.

We have been testing KESTREL AND PEREGRiNE alpha prototypes for a couple of months now on the test bench. A small group of alpha+ testers has received batch 1 and 2. The next group and will receive the batch 3 in a couple of weeks for independent testing. We look forward to your feedback for improvements and enhancements.

DHX concluded testing on the gen 3 rotor achieving 147kW, 200Nm, 7000RPM, 195hp. With additional cooling and some tech tweaks.... stay tuned.

Manufacturing of the PEREGRiNE low voltage motor series P20, 40, 60 for alpha+ testers has commenced.

DHX concluded gen 3 rotor development for the Super Hawk160 motor to increase speed and improved rotor cooling.

The University of Michigan's Michigan Solar Sea team placed second in the Promoting Electric Propulsion Competition hosted by ASNE, racing their custom electric boat on a 5 lap, 1 mile endurance course, using a DHX sponsored power train consisting of a Hawk40 96V motor, controller, and wire harness.

AquaHarmonics is getting ready to test their wave generator prototype at Sandia National Laboratories, powered by a DHX Crane motor.

The next-gen 96V PEREGRiNE motor series design has been locked and is ready for production trials.

Production of the Crane motors have been concluded and shipped out for testing in a wave generator application.
